Car Protect was launched in 1996 to provide customer protection from the cost of mechanical, electrical and electronic car repairs. From the beginning technology and market experience was combined to result in a synergy that created market leading cover with excellent value for money.
We are members of the Motorway Direct Group who have nearly 40 years experience of marketing, brokering and handling of financial protection motoring products. We have over a 500,000 live policies in our portfolio bearing Car Protect and household names such as AA Warranty, RAC Warranty, Black Horse, G. E. Capital, Barclaycard, Mercedes Benz, Hyundai, Daihatsu, Scania, LDV, Bennett's and Budget Insurance.
With nearly 40 years experience pioneering the development of Warranty and financial motoring products by its founders, Car Protect is now a synergy of people, best practice, technology and quality customer service.
We operate from our modern head office in Sheffield; a city well served with quality staff from the insurance industry, the automotive industry, marketing and design, IT and data management. We support our people with quality training, resource and membership of professional associations such as The Institute of the Motor Industry (I.M.I). We operate to the I.M.I. code of practice.
We put Customer Service right at the top of our priorities, we only have UK based Customer Support Centres which are staffed by carefully selected and trained customer service and technical staff. We use modern telephony and database technology to ensure our customers get the right help when they need it; that could be a new engine for a Ford Mondeo, a gearbox repair on a Vauxhall Corsa, a spring for a Peugeot 206 or advice on a local garage to take their pride and joy to for a service.
We operate an extremely robust Customer Service and Claims handling process. We manage over 5,000 service calls per week, all handled under strict reportable service levels. All of our operations are accredited under the ISO 9001 Quality standard which we have maintained for the last Seven years. This accreditation gives re-assurance and confidence to our customers and business partners.
Our philosophy is to find solutions to customers needs. And to pay claims, not avoid them. To underpin this philosophy we provide a nationwide managed repair network of over 1000 repair workshops that gives Car Protect customers; priority booking, courtesy cars and discounted rates for non warranty repairs. You may also use your trusted garage if you wish.
We are fully authorised and regulated by the Financial Services and have the principles of Treating the Customer Fairly embedded at the centre of everything we do. For your protection as a major provider, and broker in the insurance industry we always use a range of actuarial, analytical and market research tools, companies and personnel to deliver strategies. We only use "BBB+" and "A" rated partners to assist in our solutions and strategies. This way we ensure market leading providers with the best security and Risk Mitigation strategies being used. We are members of industry bodies such as Protect, who work closely with regulators to create leading programmes which are compliant and Treating the Customer Fairly centric. We utilise the skill sets and services of Lloyds of London through to global insurance company partners to research, develop and pilot programmes prior to launch.
